President Rosemary Allen Wins Woman of the Year in Scott County

President Rosemary Allen was recently named “Woman of the Year” for 2024 at the Georgetown/Scott County Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Ceremony. Allen was praised for eliminating the College’s $28 million long-term debt over the past 12 months, along with her passion, leadership, and dedication to Georgetown College and the greater Georgetown community.
“President Allen is a longstanding citizen of Georgetown and has been serving the community and Georgetown College in various roles over the past 40 years,” stated presenter Kristine Cassata. “Her success at the College and the impact on the greater community is immeasurable. Having a strong woman in a leadership position like hers puts us in a fortunate place.”
Nominees for Woman of the Year must be chamber members in good standing and strive to enhance character, career, and community through cultivating business alliances, advocating women’s issues, educating others, and supporting the Georgetown/Scott County Chamber of Commerce.
“It is truly an honor to receive this award,” said President Rosemary Allen. “It has been a challenging and rewarding year at Georgetown College, and I continue to be grateful for all the donor investment in our bright future. I am grateful to the Chamber for the work we do together to improve this community, and I am excited to see what the future holds.”
