Giving Day Raises $576,219 – Highest Total in Event History

Tiger fans turned out to support Georgetown College on Giving Day - March 27, 2025, as students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends collectively raised $576,219 This was the highest fundraising total for GC Giving Day ever!

“GC Giving Day truly is the essence of Tiger Pride. This was a tremendous day of love and support for Georgetown College,” said Bethany H. Langdon ’93, Vice President for Advancement and Communications, “When GC eliminated $28M in long-term debt last year, it created opportunities for support of this campus like never before. We are deeply grateful for our alumni, students, family, and friends who made this an exceptional GC Giving Day!”

GC Giving Day offered 27 challenges to choose from, including 17 athletic challenges that raised $88,563 from Georgetown’s Tiger alumni. The campus community also enjoyed Karaoke in the Caf, where three students and three members of faculty and staff performed live during lunch, including President Rosemary Allen. Students voted with cash donations to support Giving Day and decide the final six singers. You can watch their performances on YouTube here!

Key highlights of GC Giving Day 2025 include:

  • 1,475 gifts made to the 1,111 Challenge to support a gift for every student, which unlocked an additional $111,111 in matching gifts.
  • $40,672 raised for the Tiger Mates Challenge to unlock an additional $25,000 match. This challenge honors teammates, soulmates, classmates, roommates, and best friends who met at Georgetown College.
  • $14,150 raised for the Biology Lab Equipment Challenge, surpassing the $6,500.
  • $6,195 raised for the Cross Country/Track and Field teams, surpassing their goal of $4,000 total and unlocking an additional $6,000 gift from a Cross Country alum for meeting the goal.
  • $5,245 raised for Men’s Volleyball, essentially doubling their goal of $2,500.
