With two distinct tracks in Studio Art and Art History, the Art major offers something for both creators and curators. This flexible major helps you develop analytical and technical skills, preparing you to make original contributions to the field. Art students admitted to the Prototype Program of Distinction will have access to personal studio space on campus and the opportunity to assist select faculty on special projects and exhibitions.
Guided by faculty who are skilled, prolific artists, a BA in Art can be earned with a track in studio art or art history. The art studio track encompasses a wide array of traditional and digital media, while the art history track incorporates original research, curatorial opportunities, and access to Georgetown College’s extensive collection of art and the three art galleries – Wilson, Jacobs, and Cochenour.
Our graduates have gone on to prestigious graduate schools such as the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Michigan, the Cranbrook Academy of Art, New School – Parsons School of Design, Boston University, and the University of Kentucky.
