THE GEORGETOWN WAY
OF EDUCATING AND CARING FOR OUR STUDENTS
WE VALUE OUR STUDENTS, RESPECTING THEM AS DIVERSE INDIVIDUALS WITH UNIQUE STORIES AND CAPACITIES.
WE SERVE OUR STUDENTS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH THE SUPPORT THEY NEED AT THEIR VARIOUS STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT.
WE CHALLENGE OURSELVES AND OUR STUDENTS TO EMBRACE SHARED HIGH EXPECTATIONS.
WE EMPOWER AND EQUIP OUR STUDENTS TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINED SUCCESS.
WE INSPIRE OUR STUDENTS TO BECOME WHO THEY WANT TO BE AND WHO THE WORLD NEEDS THEM TO BE.
READY TO BECOME A TIGER?
As part of our commitment to THE GEORGETOWN WAY, we are investing in our faculty and staff through Character and Calling Development. As a campus with a mission to provide a challenging educational community ‘rooted in Christian love and service,’ we recognize that character and calling are essential for students as well as for faculty, staff, athletics, and administrators who guide and support their pursuit of making a positive difference in the world. Character focuses us on cultivating personal practices of virtue, such as honesty and justice, while calling challenges us to find meaning and purpose in our careers and lives. The College pursues these goals through grants from the Lilly Foundation and, more recently, from the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE).
