Psychology

One of the most popular departments on campus, our psychology major successfully prepares you for clinical/counseling, developmental, cognitive, health, and social psychology. Our small class size guarantees that you develop close relationships with our three full-time psychology faculty, who offer a wide range of specialized courses that few colleges with small class sizes can match. Our alumni manage caseloads, work to end homelessness, serve as animal care technicians, and even run sales departments.

Careers

Experiential Learning Opportunities

Peer Counseling: The Georgetown College Peer Counseling Program was thoughtfully developed by Psychology and Student Life to highlight the importance of mental health and emotional wellness on campus. Carefully selected and trained by Psychology faculty and Licensed Professional Counseling staff from the Georgetown College Counseling Center, Peer Counselors serve as mental health supporters to the student body.

Internships: Psychology majors and minors have opportunities to work independently on research projects with faculty over a variety of topics. Several students have presented their research at the Kentucky Psychological Association’s annual conference.
