Graduates have been admitted to leading vet schools such as Auburn, Michigan State, and Ohio State. GC also offers internship and job shadowing placements at various veterinary practices, both large and small. Students interested in veterinary medicine should follow the recommendations for pre-medical and pre-dental students and consult veterinary college catalogs for specific course requirements and other application requirements. Georgetown College offers all the prerequisites and recommended courses for veterinary programs. Students should also gain experience in the veterinary field, preferably by shadowing both large- and small-animal veterinarians. Kentucky has a contract with Auburn’s Veterinary School, which accepts at least 40% of its entering class from Kentucky.
