If you already hold a B.S. or B.A. and you’re working toward a career in medicine, physician assistant studies, dentistry, nursing, or veterinary medicine, we’re here to help you get there. Graduate and professional programs are competitive, and no two applicants come in with quite the same background — so we take the time to get to know your undergraduate coursework, your goals, and the specific requirements of the programs you’re aiming for and build a plan around you. Our hope is simple: to help prepare the next generation of health care providers who will go on to serve patients right here in Kentucky.
Foundational Track: New to the pre-health path and still working toward your target program’s basic requirements? This track starts you off with intro courses in biology, chemistry, and/or physics — whatever you need to build a solid foundation before moving forward.
Enhanced Track: Already meet the basic requirements but want to boost your GPA or test scores? We’ll build you an individualized plan with extra coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, or health care administration and medical ethics. You can also add research or a TA position for 1 hour of credit. Most students finish in two semesters (24 hours), but the timeline’s flexible.

- BA or BS from an accredited college or institution
- Overall GPA of 2.75 and a 3.25 in their last 60 hours
- Personal statement that demonstrates their commitment to pursuing a career in health care or veterinary studies, which may include work, internships, and shadowing.
- One letter of recommendation from a person familiar with the applicant’s academic background and/or work background
