Whatever your medium – film or flute, brush or bass voice – our innovative arts programs are for you! We offer artists private studio space and professional-level film equipment, and we offer musicians unique pep bands or chorales and travel opportunities. Georgetown College is the place for artists looking to hone their craft as part of a beautiful life.

PROTOTYPE PROGRAM
The Prototype Program offers Art students unique privileges and opportunities. To begin, students admitted to the program will have access to personal studio space in Knight Hall, adjacent to the Wilson Art Building. They will also engage with visiting artists exhibiting in The Galleries at Georgetown College. Participants will assist faculty on special projects and exhibitions. Perhaps most importantly, they will be involved in and contribute to a vibrant arts community, including the Prototype Open House and special group exhibitions. The Prototype Program is available to both incoming and current students.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Exhibit work in Prototype members’ exhibitions
- Must enroll in one art course per semester
- Attend on-campus gallery openings and receptions
- Participate in Prototype open house events
Once you have applied, we will schedule a personal interview either during Georgetown Scholar Day or individually in the spring semester.
ALL APPLICATIONS REQUIRE
- An application letter with the technical and conceptual direction of your current work, how you see the private studio space benefiting your practice, and any specific plans you have for the space.
- A portfolio of 6-10 digital representations of their work. They must be labeled with name, first initial, underscore, and slide number (ex., GrahamD_01.jpg)
- A list including title, medium, dimensions, and date of completion for each work.

MASKRAFTERS ACADEMY
Maskrafters is Kentucky’s oldest continuous collegiate theatre group. The Academy gives students interested in Theatre and Film Studies the chance to earn an additional scholarship in college by doing what they already love: taking part in shows, interning with theatre and film professionals, attending film festivals, and engaging in other amazing opportunities!
Our Maskrafters Academy allows accepted students to use film equipment for individual projects, participate in every stage show, attend workshops at the Humana Festival each spring, and intern in a related field. All Academy students will also receive a $1,000 annual scholarship and an additional $500 during their senior year to direct a play or film a movie for their senior project. With our focus on developing new work for stage and screen, we give students the chance to explore their own ideas and the tools to become content creators.
Students who apply may be invited to audition during the Georgetown Scholars Day.
MUSIC, BAND, AND CORALE
MUSIC
Music is not just an academic study; it is a way of life for many people. At Georgetown College, we would love to give you the opportunity to continue singing or playing your instrument in college, to take your understanding and love of music to the next level, and to join a unique and rich community of former musical Tigers in our chorale or bands.
Band
There are two primary ensembles at Georgetown, the Tiger Symphonic Band and the Fighting Tiger Grrr… Pep Band (FTGPB). Students can receive academic credit for participating in weekly practices held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 to 5:00. The primary ensembles perform more than 20 times a year, and there is no additional cost beyond personal instruments. Many of our instruments and equipment will all be provided by our band friends.
Chorale
Chorale is a choral ensemble consisting of Georgetown College students majoring in a variety of subjects. The Georgetown College Chorale performs a wide variety of choral repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day for churches, schools, conventions, and numerous on-campus functions. Chorale is a non-auditioned ensemble. Students can receive academic credit for participating in weekly practices.
