Belle of the Blue Clues! Pageant is March 31; Georgetown Gentleman Competition Gets Trial Run as Prelude

Georgetown, KY – If you didn’t know already, the 2012 Belle of the Blue Scholarship Pageant has been scheduled a month-and-a-half later than usual – Saturday, March 31 to be exact.

And, the start time for BOTB has been moved back to 7:30 p.m. in Hill Chapel in order to debut the Georgetown Gentleman competition from 6-7 p.m.

The Georgetown Activities Council is bringing back this competition for outstanding males for a trial run. (A Beau of the Blue competition was discontinued in Eighties.) Millicent Wimpsett, Co-VP of Traditions, said every male residence hall will be represented, going through preliminary interviews and writing an essay. But, only six survivors will take the stage that Saturday night for another interview and a test of their poise. Campus involvement and community service will carry a lot of weight. She said there will be some scholarship prize money for the top three; and, if this event is successful, GAC hopes to budget money that would be equal to the women who place in Belle of the Blue.

Stay tuned for ticket information.
