GC men bounce back after tough loss

After losing at Lindsay Wilson after a 3/4 court buzzer beating three, the Tigers came out thursday night looking for redemption. Rio Grande kept the game close with Georgetown early; but with the help of  Allan Thomas (17 points) and Jordan Demercy (20 points) Georgetown College was able to pull away to a 88-57 victory. Georgetown dominated every aspect of the game and look to carry that momentum into Davis-Reid this Saturday against West Virginia Tech. Tipoff will be at 4:00pm

GC women stop 2 game losing streak with big win at home

The number 18 ranked Georgetown College women’s team took apart MSC foe Rio Grande. After a 24-2 run for the Tigers to start the game Georgetown never looked back as they went on to a 103-70 victory. The Tigers were led in scoring by team leaders Andrea Howard (22 points) and Jessica Waddle (19 points) and the Tigers will be back in action at home this Saturday against West Virginia Tech at 2:00pm

Tigers take #5 ranking on the road

The Georgetown College men’s basketball team moved up one spot in the NAIA rankings this week to number 5 and will take that ranking and their 14-2 record on two road MSC games this week. Thursday the Tigers will take on a tough University of The Cumberlands team (9-5), and Saturday Georgetown College heads to #14 ranked Lindsay Wilson College.  The Tigers were be led by senior leader and MSC player of the week Maurice Pearson. Pearson had a phenominal game in the Tigers last matchup against MSC foe Shawnee St. putting up 23 points and 14 rebounds leading Georgetown to a 90-67 victory.

GC Women’s Basketball pulls upset in MSC play

The Georgetown College women’s basketball team was able to defeat #6 ranked Shawnee St. 74-68 behind an incredible effort by Tiger guard Andrea Howard. Howard recorded 34 points and 10 rebounds to earn her fifth double-double this season. The victory allowed Georgetown to take the #1 spot in the MSC and move up 5 spots in the NAIA polls to #15. The Tigers will have the opportunity to move up even higher in the NAIA polls with 2 tough road games this week against #8 University of the Cumberlands and #20 Lindsay Wilson College.

The Tigers will tipoff against University of the Cumberlands at 6:00pm ET tune in for complete coverage and game broadcast on 93.7 WRVG

Mark and Keith are in their second year calling games together for the Radio Voice of Georgetown.  They are both involved with Track and Field at Georgetown College.  Mark and Keith had the joy of covering the Tigers in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. this past year.
