The Writing Center is designed so that trained peer tutors assist students orally, ONE-ON-ONE, with writing assignments, writing skills such as wording of ideas, grammar and punctuation and documentation, creative writing, and internet searches. It is available to all Georgetown students. Students can also take English CLEP exams in the Center to see if they can exempt ENG 111 OR 112.
Thanks, in part, to a generous grant from the Steele-Reese Foundation, the Center has been expanded to include an extensive library of writing exercises and tutorials to assist students in writing across the curriculum. The GC Wriitng Center website features an in-depth description of the various services available to you.
The Writing Center is conveniently located in the basement of the Anna Ashcraft Ensor Learning Resource Center, in room LRC-016. To make an appointment, call our hotline at 8423 during operating hours well in advance. You may also drop in anytime.
