christel1 Meet Your InstructorsKickstart Fitness - Christel Broady - Christel has been a member of the campus community since 2002. You may know her as an associate professor in the graduate education program directing the ESL program. Christel has been involved in wellness and fitness programs for many years. She received her first national fitness instructor certification in 1997 and has been adding more since. She currently also holds two national certifications issued by the YMCA, USA. She was featured on the cover of a YMCA book, and currently instructs studio cycling classes in Lexington.

Julie Meet Your InstructorsBody Sculpt - Julie Sams - Julie is a 1994 graduate of Georgetown College with a major in Business Administration and minor in Psychology.  As a student she was involved in many aspects of campus life, including being a member and officer in Phi Beta Lambda.  She has worked in Admissions for over 5 years now and says she was thrilled to get the opportunity in 2006 to work for her alma mater.  Julie has been an instructor for nearly 20 years with a primary focus on step aerobics.

Self DefenseBrian Jones - Brian has an MS and PhD in exercise science from the University of Kentucky. He holds several training certifications including the NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA Weightlifting Club Coach and Sports Performance Coach, World Kettlebell Club Fitness Instructor, and Crossfit Level 1. Brian is currently the state director of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  Brian has black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, and taekwondo and experience in many other martial arts including boxing, kickboxing, kenpo, and mixed martial arts. He is currently the owner/head instructor of Valhalla Grappling Academy( in Frankfort, KY where he teaches jiu-jitsu, judo, and defensive tactics to civilians and law enforcement officers.
