Professor Dortch is professional actor with credits on stage, TV and film; and has taught Master classes at various colleges, universities, and theatres in the southeast and Midwest.  He graduated from the Professional Actor Training Program at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival (degree conferred by the University of Alabama).  He is also a produced playwright, having penned the first full-length stage adaptation of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to use live horses in an outdoor amphitheater; is a recognized Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD); and has participated in new works with programs such as the Southern Writer’s Project.  While his credits are extensive, his focus and continuing studies are in Stage Combat and Shakespeare.  He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and is thrilled to be teaching at Georgetown College
