Emerging Leaders Application Process

Information Session

Thursday February 3 from 11 AM-1 PM in the Hall of Fame Room. This is a drop-in session for students to learn more about the process and the available positions. During this time, you may also ask any questions you have about the application, resume, interviews, or workshops.

Applications Available

The applications will be available online from February 3-February 11. Your references may also go to this site in order to access the reference form (due February 20). Each student should have two references (may be personal or professional, but not family members).

Resume Workshop

Thursday, February 10 in ASC 112 at 11 AM and 7 PM. Students may attend one of these two sessions get help with resumes before turning it in when signing up for an interview time (Must be done by February 18). This session is not a required part of the Emerging Leaders Program, but is strongly encouraged. Attendance will be taken, and when it comes to hiring, students that attend will have an advantage over those that do not. This is open to everyone on campus.

Making Yourself Marketable Session

Tuesday, February 15 in ASC 112 at 11 AM and 7 PM. Students may attend one of these two sessions to discuss ways to make themselves marketable during the Emerging Leaders Process, as well as when interviewing for other jobs. This session is not a required part of the Emerging Leaders Program, but is strongly encouraged. Attendance will be taken, and when it comes to hiring, students that attend will have an advantage over those that do not. This is open to everyone on campus.

Pre-Interview Success Sessions

Thursday, February 17 at 11 AM and 7 PM in ASC 112. Students may attend one of these two sessions in order to acquire helpful information that will help them with the interview process. This is not a required part of the Emerging Leaders Program, but is strongly encouraged. Attendance will be taken, and when it comes to hiring, students that attend will have an advantage over those that do not. This is open to everyone on campus.

Interviews

February 21-March 11. After applying, please come to the Student Life Office to sign up for an interview time. You must turn in a completed resume at this time. Students applying for President’s Ambassador, Campus Ministry Team Leader, Resident Director, Freshman Family Group Coordinator or Orientation Coordinator will be interviewed February 21-February 24. Students hired for Campus Ministry Team Leader, Freshman Family Groups Coordinator, Resident Director or Orientation Coordinator will be expected to help with interviews the following two weeks. There will be a second-round interview process for students applying for President’s Ambassador.

Evaluations

In order to improve upon the current Emerging Leaders process, surveys will be sent to all students that participated in the Emerging Leaders Process on March 21. They should be completed by March 24.
