Saturday, September 20th the Harper Gatton Leadership Program will be hosting the first-ever Kentucky Collegiate Leadership Conference.  This conference is available to students from across the state of Kentucky and will include a keynote speaker, leadership workshops, and a case study competition.  Space is limited so please contact John Banter if you wish to attend.

Thursday, September 25th at 11 am in the Hall of Fame Room Mr. Terry Moses will speak on first impressions and the importance of good first impressions for leaders.  Mr. Moses is the founder of Atlantis Consulting & Services which specializes in helping small businesses obtain Government contracts.  Harper Gatton students attending this workshop will receive 2 Personal Development credits toward their leadership transcript.  

Thursday, October 23rd at 11 am in Hill Chapel L. Dennis "Coach D" Robinson will be speaking about "Diversity University" showing how developing appreciation of diversity plays into being a leader in college.  Coach D is the author of "Leadership: From the Heart of a Coach" and is the CEO of LDT & Associates Leadership Academy.  This workshop is worth 2 Organizational Development credits for Harper Gatton students and will be held in the Hall of Fame Room.  

Tuesday, November 18th at 11 am in John Hill Chapel, Ambassador George Staples, Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of the Bureau of Human Resources with the U.S. Department of State will be speaking.  The Honorable Dr. George Staples will speak about his experience as the US Ambassador to the Republic of Rwanda and his work in rebuilding Rwanda after the horrific genocide which occurred prior to his service in the early 1990s.  This opportunity is being offered by the Global Scholars program and is available to Harper Gatton Leadership students.  Harper Gatton students who attend will receive 2 Organizational Development credits toward their leadership transcript.

Thursday, November 1st from 8:15 - 5: We will attend the Unbridling the Spirit of Leadership in Kentucky Communities Conference featuring Dr. John Maxwell. Tuesday, November 13th at 11 am in Asher 112: "Stacking the Odds in Your Favor in Today’s Challenging Job Market” presented by Janey Moores. This event is a CEP will be worth 2 Personal Development Workshop Credits for Harper Gatton. Janey Moores is the President and CEO of BJM Staffing and Job Guidance of Kentucky and a graduate of Georgetown College. Ms. Moores will be describing what students can do to distinguish themselves from all the other college grads who will be entering the job market. Ms. Moores will share current employment trends, give tips to a successful job search, and share how she utilized her liberal arts degree from Georgetown College to build her multi-million dollar business in Kentucky. (Worth 2 Personal Development Credits)

Thursday, January 24th from 11-1pm in the Hall of Fame Room will be a Leadership Seminar centering around leadership styles, leadership approaches and effective interpersonal communication skills. Kelly Thorne, a life coach in the Lexington area, will be presenting the seminar. This opportunity is offered in collaboration with the Graves Center for Calling and Career and is worth 1 Personal Development Credit.

Tuesday, February 5th from 11-12 am in ASC 112 will be a lecture on "What I Wish I Had Known Before Graduation" presented by Cindy Wimpy a CPA and Director of Finance at Southland Christian Church. This opportunity is in conjunction with the Business and Economics Department and is worth 1 Organizational Development Credit.

Thursday, February 7th from 11-12 in the Hall of Fame Room will be a leadership workshop on "Black History and Leadership" presented by Dr. Rick Gray. Dr. Gray is a scholar of black history, culture, and theology and received his doctorate in intercultural studies. His work dealing with leadership and African-Americans has led him around the world to speak on the topic. He is also the founder and CEO of Evening Star Enterprises Inc, a children's publishing company dedicated to the African-American market. The workshop is worth 2 Organizational Development Credits. (Please feel free to bring your lunch to this workshop)

Wednesday, February 20th from 8-9 pm in Knight Hall Chapel classroom #4 (basement of Hill Chapel) will be a leadership workshop on Debt Freedom. John Bollinger, an 2006 Georgetown graduate currently working for Hilliard Lyons Inc, and Crystal Lamotta, a personal banker, will present on how to get yourself out of debt and ways to begin to save to build your financial independence. This workshop is worth 2 Personal Development Credit.

Wednesday, March 5th from 8-9 pm in Knight Hall Chapel classroom #4 (basement of Hill Chapel) will be a leadership workshop on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. John Banter will lead the group through Steven Covey's work regarding the 7 Habits and how you can use them in your everyday leadership settings. This workshop is worth 1 Personal Development Credit.

Thursday, March 13th from 11-12 in the Hall of Fame Room will be a leadership workshop on "Christian Leadership" presented by Dr. Rick Gray. This workshop is worth 2 Organizational Development credits.

Wednesday, March 26th from 6-7 pm in ASC 112 we will have a guest speaker from Eli Lilly and Company, Mr. Carlos Johnson.  Mr. Johnson will be speaking on the topic of Emotional Intelligence.  This workshop is worth 2 Personal Development Credit. 

Monday, March 31st from 2-3 pm in Pawling 103 Harper Gatton students will have an opportunity to discuss leadership principles with author and former co-owner of Morgan Stanley, Buzz McCoy.  Then at 4 pm in Hill Chapel students will hear from Mr. McCoy again as he speaks on leadership and your voice.  Attending both events will give you 2 Personal Development credits.

Thursday, April 10th at 3:30 pm in ASC 112 will be a leadership workshop titled: "Leadership Without Borders: Developing a Cross-Cultural View of Leadership." This workshop will be presented by Dr. Russell West. Dr. West has served as a faculty member, a former college president, and a United States Marine Corp Drill Instructor. Dr. West founded The Leadership Emergence Group International, a organization that develops executives, works with emerging leadership and their staff, and organizational emergence. His organization also developed a program to help young leaders develop an executive identity and to help them move their entrepreneurial ideas into real business models. Dr. West will be leading this workshop from his most recent book, Leadership Without Borders. This workshop is worth 2 Organizational Development Credits. This workshop is also a CEP event.

Wednesday, April 23rd at 6 pm at the Thomas & King Leadership Conference Center will be the Harper Gatton End of the Year Banquet.  Our guest speaker is Mr. Gerald F. "Kelly" Healy III, one of the owners of the Healy Organization which owns and operates McDonald's in the central and southeastern regions of Kentucky.  The Harper Gatton End of the Year Banquet is worth 2 Organizational Development Credits.
