The Marshall Center for Christian ministry began operation in January 1997 to help students prepare for Christian leadership and service in the global mission of the 21st century.
The center is named for Dr. William W. and Alice Marshall, both 1957 alumni of GC, who become co-directors of the center in March 1997. Dr. Marshall recently retired as executive secretary-treasurer of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Before serving at the KBC, he was a pastor and a Southern Baptist missionary to the Middle East, and vice president for human resources for the Foreign Mission Board. Alice is a former president of the Southern Baptist Ministers’ Wives group and is currently a partner in a retail wallpaper corporation.
The Marshall Center's three initiatives are:
- Missions and Ministry
- Continuing Professional Development
- Resource Development
