CLEP Information

The College Level Examination Program at Georgetown College is a means for a student to receive college credit by examination. This testing is offered only to students attending Georgetown college. A list of these tests may be found in the College Catalog. Contact the Registrar's Office for the required score in order to receive credit from the CLEP exam. The credit received by this testing is then added to the current academic term at the time of the testing. Students must pre-register for CLEP exam. CLEP tests are computerized, and your tests results are received after the test is completed.

Cost

Currently there is a charge of $77 for CLEP and an $15 charge for the college. Two checks are required before a test will be administered. If credit is received, then a recording fee of $40 will be paid to the Business Office.  

Sign-Up

A student must come to the Registrar's Office no later than one week before the test is to be administered in order to sign-up. The only exception to this is for New Student's who request their testing on their Course Preference Sheet to be mailed to our office. If you have to cancel please call 8024 to notify our office.

Testing Dates

Results

Your test score will be evaluated by the Test Administrator and then a letter is mailed to you which indicates whether you received credit or not.

ENG 112 Department Test

The ENG112 test is administered by the Writing Center. There is no charge for taking the test. Only students who have taken the CLEP English College Composition exam and an exceptional score on the exam are eligible to take the ENG112 Departmental Exam. This score may be obtained from the Registrar's Office. Please contact the Writing Center to make an appointment to take the test.

Retesting
