Georgetown College is a member of the American Mock Trial Association and competes with other undergraduate schools in mock trial competition.  The purpose of the mock trial competition is to better acquaint students with the judicial system, enhance their analytical and communication skills, sharpen their judgment, and provide them with intellectual challenges in a realistic environment.

The mock trial team consists of six students who serve as attorneys in a civil or criminal case and prepare legal strategy, question witnesses, and argue their cases before a panel of judges.  The team is then scored on the performance of each of its attorneys and witnesses.
