It was the chance to study at Oxford that did it for me!
During my college search, I looked at several liberal arts colleges in Kentucky and Ohio. What made Georgetown College rise above the rest for me was the Oxford program – the opportunity to spend a semester studying at Oxford University in England.
As soon as I learned about the partnership GC had with Oxford, I knew I had to be a part of it. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up!
Now I’ve made it to Oxford!
I can tell you the process of preparing for Oxford was incredibly challenging, but my GC professors were always supportive and took extra time to work with me to ensure the paper I sent with my application was as near perfect as I could make it. All the hard work and all the belief that my professors had in me paid off.
Studying at such a world-class institution has been an incredible experience. No doubt my success at Oxford is a reflection of the preparation I received at Georgetown.
One of the hardest things about studying at Oxford for a term is not being back on campus at GC. Yes, Oxford is an amazing opportunity, but I do miss all of my friends and the wonderful faculty and staff back home.
The Oxford program was my number one reason for choosing Georgetown and now that I am spending a term in England, I feel so accomplished. Georgetown helped me achieve my dream of studying at such a prestigious and historic university. But I must say, once I am finished with my short time there, I will be glad to get back to Georgetown College’s campus. Go Tigers!
