Georgetown College junior Carrie Bell White, above right, receives the 2018 Alpha Delta Kappa, Gamma Chapter scholarship from Bobbie Burcham, Ph.D., the chapter’s scholarship chairperson. ADK is an honorary educational sorority which seeks to enrich the lives of future educators.
“One of the ways the Gamma chapter of ADK meets its mission is by giving scholarships to outstanding students who have been accepted into collegiate teacher preparation programs,” explained Dr. Burcham. “We are proud to present this scholarship to Carrie Bell.”
The Lawrenceburg native will receive $500 for each of two consecutive years as long as she maintains a B average or better in Georgetown’s education program. “We feel confident this will be no problem for her as she has been an exemplary student during her undergraduate studies,” said Dr. Burcham.
The scholarship recipient plans to do her student teaching next year in the Scott County Public Schools.
Carrie Bell is the daughter of Tony and Vickie White and granddaughter of Jane Hodges, all of Lawrenceburg.
