Sharon Clifton and Michelle Pedigo Join Board

Michelle Celsor Pedigo and Sharon Marshall Clifton are new additions to the Georgetown College Board of Trustees. They formally join the 24-member board in January.
Michelle Pedigo received her Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown College in 1990 with a double major in business administration and English. She was very active on campus, involved in Sigma Kappa Sorority and Phi Beta Lambda as a state officer.
She earned a Master of Arts, Educational Leadership and Administration from Western Kentucky University and certifications in secondary school principalship and school district superintendent. She then worked for seven years as a Principal in the Barren County School System.
In 2002 she joined MetLife as the National Director of Affinity Marketing and served in several positions including Senior Vice President. In 2016, she assumed the role of Vice President for the South Region for MassMutual Financial Advisors when they acquired MetLife’s Premier Client Group.
She is married to Ivan Pedigo and they have four daughters: Sara-Cate, Deanie, Mallory, and Bailey. Ivan is part of the family farm business – CPS Commodities – in Fountain Run, KY. It specializes in cattle nutrition, feed, and farm hardware. They service much of the southeastern part of the United States.
Sharon Marshall Clifton is the daughter of Southern Baptist missionaries Bill and Alice Marshall. She was born in Roanoke, VA and has lived in Cyprus, Lebanon, and Germany.
Mrs. Clifton is a 1985 graduate of Samford University. She earned the MBA at the University of Louisville in 1989. Her professional experience includes administrative positions with Humana, Inc., Alliant Health System, Wallpaper for Less, and Clifton Real Estate.
She has served in leadership roles with Tennessee Baptist Adult Homes, Woodmont Baptist Church, the Baptist Center for Ethics, and the Marshall Center for Christian Ministry, named in honor of Bill and Alice Marshall, which has the aim of strengthening the Christian mission and identity of Georgetown College.
Mrs. Clifton and her husband, Steve, now live in Lexington. They are the parents of two adult children, Marshall and Sarah.
