A new SGA Executive Council has been elected ahead of the 2019-2020 Academic Year. Current Sophomore Zach Dampier was elected the new President of SGA for the upcoming year. Zach is an accomplished student and athlete as quarterback on the Georgetown College Football Team. He’s ready to take on the challenges of his new role.
“I hope to be able to make this campus more exciting to be on and improve the relationships everywhere on campus. I want everyone to know that I am in this position for them to come and talk to me about anything they want changed. Having an all new council is a unique challenge, but I’m excited for us to all find our own way together and see how great we can make Georgetown College,” he said.
Sophomore Savanah Jackson made history by becoming the first African-American female to be elected Vice President of the SGA Executive Council. “Being elected as the first African-American female as Vice President is a tremendous honor. I am planning to do a lot of collaborations with events next year, just really pulling in a lot of departments for events for a greater student turnout. That’s what I’m really going to be focused on next year,” she said.
Rounding out the new SGA Executive Council are new Vice President of Academic Affairs, Preston Crump, Vice President of Campus Community Affairs, Alex Perry, and Parliamentarian Gracie Gelnett.
The new Executive Council will begin work with the start of the 2019-2020 Academic Year.
