Submitted on May 24, 2019
The annual Horsey Hundred returns to Georgetown this weekend, marking the 42nd occasion of the event. First held at the Kentucky Horse Park in 1978, the event is one of the premiere cycling events in the nation, featuring a 100 mile course, along with several shorter courses. The event also features live music, food trucks, and other entertainment.
The Horsey Hundred has been held at Georgetown College since 1983. Having started in 1978, the event quickly expanded from that first year, growing to more than 200 riders by 1982. Since the event moved to Georgetown College in 1983, the event has become massive, regularly hosting more than 2,000 riders from all over the world.
