Georgetown College graduate wins prestigious Milken Education Award

Frankfort fifth grade teacher Angie Beavin who earned a Master’s in Education from Georgetown College in 2012 was surprised to find, she had been named one of the top teachers in the nation. She was presented with a Milken Education Award on Monday by the Milken Family Foundation at a surprise school assembly. The national award comes with an unrestricted $25,000 cash prize. She is the only Milken Educator Award winner from Kentucky this year and is among 33 honorees nationally.
