John Len Davis is joining Georgetown College on Oct. 10 as Vice President of Development. His appointment has been announced by President Dr. M. Dwaine Greene.
“We are most pleased that Mr. Davis has chosen to join Georgetown in such a responsible position,” Dr. Greene stated in a message to the college community. “He is an impressive individual who brings years of successful experience from mature fundraising operations at two of our sister institutions.”
Davis has expertise and supervision experience in all aspects of small, private, liberal arts college fundraising. He comes to Georgetown College from Transylvania University in Lexington where he has been director of development and a major gifts officer since January, 2014. Previously he served in various positions and as both a major gifts officer and director of the annual fund at Berea College.
“I am honored to have been selected as Georgetown College’s next vice president of development,” commented Davis. “I look forward to working with President Greene, trustees, faculty and staff, and alumni to further its mission while navigating the institution through new challenges, especially in an increasingly complex and demanding external environment.”
The West Virginia native added, “Georgetown College has an amazing storied history, and I am excited to be included in its bright future. I very much look forward to joining the Georgetown community in the coming weeks.”
Georgetown College’s new vice president is a graduate of Berea College. He and his wife have two sons.
