Alumni Achievement: Gregory Mayes, Class of 2009

Gregory E. Mayes Jr. has been invited to join the Louis D. Brandeis American Inn of Court and selected for the board of directors for Wellspring. An attorney, Mayes practices business litigation in the Louisville office of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC.
Mayes will be one of only 84 members of the invitation-only Brandeis Chapter of The American Inns of Court. The American Inns of Court is an association for attorneys, judges, and leading legal minds that promotes ethics, relationships, education, and mentoring among its members.
He has also been named for a three-year term to the board of directors for Wellspring, a non-profit organization that provides housing and rehabilitative services for hundreds of adults suffering from mental illness.
Mayes joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2015. He earned his law degree from the University of Louisville in 2012 and his bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgetown College in 2009. Mayes also serves on the Board of Directors for the Coalition for the Homeless and the Kentucky School for the Blind’s Charitable Foundation and looks forward to continuing his service to the Louisville community.
