GEORGETOWN, Ky. – As undergraduate classes get underway for the fall semester, Georgetown College welcomes two new faculty members.
They are Michael Littrell, assistant professor of Sociology, and Karla Wessels, assistant professor of Kinesiology and Health Studies.
Mr. Littrell is teaching Georgetown’s new emphasis on Social and Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology. A former police officer, he holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University and expects to receive his Ph.D. in Applied Sociology from University of Louisville this year.
Dr. Wessels earned her bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Sport from Milliken University and both her master’s and Ph.D. in Kinesiology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is also a certified athletic trainer.
Mr. Littrell and Dr. Wessels are welcome additions for teaching in Georgetown’s new majors in Social and Criminal Justice and Sports Management, programs which are attracting much student interest.
