TigerBandsGEORGETOWN, KY – Four Georgetown College Band Scholars have been chosen for participation in the prestigious 2014 Kentucky Intercollegiate Band (KIB).

They are: Connor Mook – Percussion from Union, KY; Haley Lepper – B-Flat Clarinet from Fishers, IN; Nicholas Collins – Tuba from Radcliff, KY and Jacob Townson – Trombone from Louisville, KY.

Meagan Henry – B-Flat Clarinet from Frankfort, KY was chosen as an alternate.

The Kentucky Intercollegiate Band is comprised of 105 members representative of the finest college and university band members from across the Commonwealth.

The ensemble will rehearse at the University of Louisville and perform at the Whitney Hall of the KentuckyCenter for the Performing Arts as part of the state-wide Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) In-Service Conference on February 5 & 6, 2014.

The 2014 Conductor/Clinician is to be the internationally-acclaimed maestro, Colonel Lowell Graham.

This year the Kentucky Intercollegiate Band is again being coordinated by Dr. Amy Acklin, Associate Director of Bands and Director of the Cardinal Marching Band at the University of Louisville.

Amy’s husband is Chad Acklin ’99, a former member of Georgetown’s Tiger Bands who was also a KIB participant while a student.
