The Georgetown College Department of Music’s Lyric Theatre Society presents the world premiere of “The Pirates of Pinafore” in November in John L. Hill Chapel.

With book, new lyrics and direction by Heather Winter Hunnicutt, associate professor of music and department chair, “The Pirates of Pinafore” is described as a “ridiculously silly operetta parody based on characters and themes of Gilbert & Sullivan.”

Performance dates and times are Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 10, at 3 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the door. They are priced at $10 each for adults and non-students, and $5 each for students with ID. Children age 10 and under are admitted free. Group discounts available.

H.M. Lewis conducts the Georgetown College orchestra. Non-original music and lyrics by Sir Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert.
