VanoverGEORGETOWN, KY – Organist Rob Vanover opens the Georgetown College Department of Music’s 2013-2014 Noteworthy Faculty and Guest Artist Concert Series with a free performance of sacred organ music.

It will be presented on Friday, September 27, 2013, at 8 p.m. in John L. Hill Chapel and is open to the public.

The program theme is Hymns and the Heavens: A Chronology of Sacred Organ Music. It features the music of Lübeck, Bach, Rheinberger and Langlais, as well as a suite based on hymn tunes of Vanover’s own composition.

Mr. Vanover is well known to Central Kentucky audiences. He is a choral music faculty member at Lexington Catholic High School as well as organist/music & worship associate at Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington. He is also organist and choir director for the Lexington Latin Mass Community, accompanist for the Lexington Singers Children’s Choir, and music director of the community women’s chorus, Sistersound.
