Georgetown, KY – It’s not too late to take part in the once-in-a-lifetime Courage in Munich event – the 40th Anniversary Reunion of the ’72 USA Olympic Men’s Basketball Team – with your alma mater as host in Lexington and Georgetown, Aug. 23-25. Some tickets still remain for the Saturday banquet with would-be-hero of the “most controversial basketball game ever played,” Doug Collins (now coach of the NBA Philadelphia 76ers) as the speaker.

You may also rub shoulders with most of those dozen Olympians on the Marriott Griffin Gate golf course on that Thursday. For more on this fundraiser for GC’s First Tee Scholars Program, see July’s story.

But, for a truly thought-provoking day, we turn your attention to the four fascinating seminars (see updates!) on Friday, Aug. 24 that cover various aspects of the historic ’72 Olympics. These sessions (two morning, two afternoon) will be held at our Thomas & King Conference Center, where lunch will be available as well. Each will have a name moderator, plus a panel that includes a GC professor and three of the Olympic basketball players from that ’72 squad.
