GC Tennis Teams Challenge You to Swing by Their ‘Serving Cage’ at USTA 5/3rd Bank Tournament in Lexington

Head coach Jessica Cunningham ’02 and her husband (and volunteer assistant), Michael Cunningham ’02 are urging anyone who ever picked up a racquet to “come see how fast you can hit a serve” at GC’s Serve Cage during the early stages of the USTA Fifth Third Bank Tennis Championships at (ironically) the University of Kentucky’s Hilary J. Boone Complex off Cooper Drive.

The Cunninghams, who both played No. 1 for their respective GC squads, and a number of their current players will man the cage from noon till about 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, and from noon-9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, July 23-24.

The cost: $2 for 4 serves or $5 for 10 serves. All of the proceeds from the Serving Cage fund-raiser will go toward Tiger Tennis.

Here the GC players who will be assisting:  Zach Thomas, senior from Elizabethtown;  Jacqueline Otis, sophomore from Bowling Green; Shelby Eden, a junior from Lexington; Haley Hart, a senior from Stanford; Ben Scott, a senior from Princeton.
