Georgetown, KY – University of Kentucky football coach Joker Phillips has graciously agreed to reschedule his “Conversations with Champions” event with interviewer Billy Reed for February 22. This fireside chat, which is filmed for later showing on KET, is free and open to the public at 7:30 p.m. in John L. Hill Chapel.
Originally, Phillips was to kick off Reed’s second semester line-up of “Conversations” guests on the 15th. Georgetown College and our Academy for Character in Sport changed our date in deference to the new Bluegrass Sports Commission, which announced almost at the same time that its inaugural event – presented by Alltech – would be on Feb. 15 in Lexington.
Former Kentucky Gov. Martha Layne Collins, an Executive Scholar-in-Residence at Georgetown, is to receive one of the two the first-ever Jim Host Awards at the Bluegrass Sports Award banquet at Lexington’s Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa. And, President Bill Crouch and other GC representatives plan to attend in support.
