When former GC star pitcher Samantha Barmore ’09 married former star short stop Bryan Bonner ’09 on October 8, 2011, the wedding party resembled an alumni All-Star team of Tigers. Since the bride and groom met in Giddings Circle in 2005, it was only fitting this photo was taken on the steps of Giddings

The line-up of groomsmen and bridesmaids, are 4-year GC ballplayers unless otherwise noted. L-R: Craig Olis (cousin of the groom), Adam Kenter (friend of the groom), Jason Frilling ’09 (top; catcher) Eric Severson ‘09 (bottom; outfield), Colin Wilkerson ’09 (outfield), best man Josh Franklin ’09 (catcher /first base), groom and bride,  matron of honor Jessica Craddock Grant ‘09 (first base), Victoria Witt Barnett ’09 (pitcher), Melissa Bonner (sister of groom), Sarah Gronefeld ’09 (bottom; catcher), Pamela Hardesty ’10 (top; second base), Lindsay Craigmyle (friend of bride). The little ones at the top-middle are ring-bearer Camden Peyton and junior bridesmaid Haley Peyton, both cousins of the bride.

And, of course, the ceremony was in John L. Hill Chapel with Dr. Danny Tilford on the organ.

Bryan was named “Mr. Georgetown” (the coveted athletics award) his senior year, and Samantha helped lead the team to its first national tournament in 2009. Both made the Mid-South Conference all-conference squad all four years.

Samantha (Elementary Education) is a first grade teacher at Scott County’s Stamping Ground Elementary and is working on a Masters in Teacher Leadership at Georgetown College.  Bryan (Business Management) now works at United Bank on Main Street in Georgetown.  And, Georgetown is where the newlyweds have made their home.
