Georgetown, KY – Angelo Dundee, the legendary trainer who was in the corner of young boxing great Cassius Clay (later Muhammad Ali), will be the afternoon highlight of the next College for a Day, Nov. 22.

Participants will first witness Dundee receiving an honorary degree at the morning Thanksgiving Service in John L. Hill Chapel, then get to listen to him and former Louisville Courier-Journal sports columnist Billy Reed in a special edition of “Conversations with Champions” that afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Richard & Karen Ward Room of the Ensor Learning Resource Center. Reed is the College’s second Executive Scholar-in-Residence.

In the morning, Dr. Jean Kiernan, assistant professor of kinesiology and health studies, will deliver a fun-filled hour entitled “Priceless Medicine: Laughter for Health.” Or, with all the interest on the College’s new housing complex (Rucker Village), you may want to sit in on a special session with alumnae who will share their memories and stories of historic Rucker Hall, which was torn down in 1971

Lunch – co-hosted by former Gov. Martha Layne Collins, GC’s first Executive Scholar-in-Residence – is also included in the $25 cost for an exceptional day. President Bill Crouch will also welcome you at 9 a.m. and present you with a certificate at the 3:30 closing reception.

You may register online here or call 502-863-8041 or toll free 877-640-0107. The deadline is November 17.
