Student hostess Megan McKay, a sophomore Equine Scholar from Maysville, left, escorted former Miss Kentucky and Miss America 2000 Heather French Henry to John L. Hill Chapel where she was the Veteran’s Day program speaker at Georgetown College.
Executive director of the Heather French Foundation for Veterans, she was joined by Georgetown president Bill Crouch and former Gov. Martha Layne Collins, the College’s Executive Scholar in Residence.
Henry’s appearance was also part of the College’s “College for a Day,” a successful first-time event geared primarily for retirees and senior citizens. She told the campus audience how citizens can make sure the veteran’s voice is heard and insure that future generations of people who serve the country militarily will have facilities and services that meet their needs.
