Senate Candidate Lunsford Visits Georgetown College Lunsford visit

lunsfordCandidate Bruce Lunsford, who is running against incumbent Mitch McConnell for U.S. Senate, shook hands with Georgetown College senior Zilpha Bebe of Frankfort during his Thursday afternoon swing through town and campus. But, the Kentucky Democrat was particularly excited to know she was a native of the African republic of Cameroon. Jason Snider, left, a senior from Louisville and president of the College’s Young Democrats, managed to rally a number of club members including Emily Greene, center, a freshman from Ashland; Brittany Venci (hidden) and Adriana Nunez (sunglasses), both freshmen Global Scholars from Georgetown; and Jacob Pankey, a sophomore from Danville. Also at left are professors Yoli and Eric Carter, advisors of the Young Democrats, and Will Samson. Also, second from right, is Brian Evans, director of the Office of Diversity. Lunsford told the gathering, “I hope to be a beacon for education in Kentucky.”
