Welcome to Vocal Studies within the Department of Music at Georgetown College. We offer numerous educational possibilities for vocalists including a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in voice, a Bachelor of Music Education Vocal, a Bachelor of Music in Church Music with vocal emphasis, a minor in music with vocal emphasis, a musical theatre minor, and a minor in church music with vocal emphasis. We also can create individualized area majors or minors for students with other interests such as music business, vocal coaching, musical theatre, etc. Additionally, vocal studies are available to students who are not seeking a major or minor within music, but simply want to sing in one of our choirs, take voice lessons, be a part of the lyric theatre program, find other performance opportunities, or take part in otheracademic offerings.
Each spring we host a Vocal Scholarship Competition for high school seniors who are looking to further their vocal studies at Georgetown College. The top prize is $48,000 over four years to G.C.!
Please browse our website, and feel free to contact Dr. Heather Hunnicutt, Coordinator of Vocal Studies with any questions you may have!
