
Please refer to the college catalog for general information related to the area major and minor, including minimum grade point average requirement.
An Area Major in Music must be approved by the Department of Music faculty. A written proposal outlining all course work and rationale should be submitted to the department chair prior to the first-Friday-of-the-month departmental meeting. The entire department will review the request. If approved by a quorum, those faculty members will sign the proposal.  The proposal will then be sent on for approval by the Academic Policy Committee.  If approved, a copy will be placed in the student’s permanent file for reference.  Examples of area majors involving music may include, but are not limited to:
