Dr. Laura Hunt completed her undergraduate education at Furman University in South Carolina, and received her master‚Äôs and doctoral degrees from the University of Kentucky.¬†¬†Her academic interests include the Spanish American novel and ecocritism (the study of the relationship between literature and the environment).¬†¬†Dr. Hunt has presented her work at conferences and in¬†Hispanic Journal.¬†¬†She is also interested in U.S. Latino Civilization and Culture and Hispanic Linguistics, which she teaches at Georgetown.
Dr. Hunt enjoys planning events for her students, serving as advisor to campus groups, and working with other teachers on educational technologies.¬†¬†She won the Rollie Graves Technology Award at Georgetown in 2010.¬†¬†Dr. Hunt is also an avid promoter of study abroad, has led study abroad trips to Temuco and Santiago, Chile with Georgetown College students. Dr. Hunt serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Institute for International Study (KIIS).
