Meet the Executive Director

Kenneth (Ken) Dean Holden
Executive Director, Marshall Center for Christian Ministry

Ken Holden serves as the Executive Director of the Marshall Center for Christian Ministry (MCCM). He has been in that position since April 1, 2008 and is the first fulltime Director for the Marshall Center.

Prior to taking his place on the campus of Georgetown College and assuming the role of MCCM Director, Holden served as a Kentucky pastor for almost twenty seven years. He served as Senior Pastor of Georgetown Baptist Church for fourteen years, resigning in March 2008 in order to begin his new ministry with the Marshall Center. The close relationship between Georgetown Baptist Church and Georgetown College during Holden’s pastorate helped in making it a smooth transition. Holden’s only other pastorate was in the First Baptist Church of Flatwoods, Kentucky from 1981-1994.

Originally from South Carolina, Ken Holden grew up in Spartanburg and attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He graduated from USC in 1975 with a B.S. in Business Management. He worked in a family business after graduation, but felt that God was leading him into fulltime Christian service. Realizing the need for further education, Holden entered the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated in 1981 with a Masters of Divinity degree.

Ken has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth (Beth) Young Holden, for over thirty five years. Ken and Beth have two adult children, Jennifer (Jesse) Raley who live in Columbia, SC; and Greg (Hannah) Holden who live in Lexington, KY. They have three grandchildren - Holden, Isabella and Cole.
