Georgetown College’s partnership with the Baptist Academy in Temuco, Chili receives strong support from the Marshall Center for Christian Ministry. Retired missionaries Grundy and Jean Janes’ provide leadership to this endeavor and have established the Janes’ Global Missions Endowment to perpetuate the Marshall Center’s involvement.
Since 1997, in the month of May, the Marshall Center has made a significant contribution to help send Georgetown College students and faculty on a three-week project to Temuco. They are accompanied by the Janes’, who were missionaries for 30 years in Chile where Grundy served as headmaster of the Baptist Academy at Temuco.
The Marshall Center has also furnished an apartment in Temuco where visiting Georgetown College faculty, administrators, and students can stay at minimum cost. This convenience goes a long way toward helping undergird the partnership between the two institutions.
