The News Bureau and Office of Public Relations is a division of the Office of Marketing and Communications. It is located on the first floor of Giddings Hall. It provides information about Georgetown College to both on- and off-campus audiences, including news media, alumni, and friends of the college.

Our news bureau routinely sends photos and photo captions to hometown newspapers whenever students from those local areas are prominent in campus activities.

We now also use e-mail and, on occasion, a broadcast fax service to distribute press releases statewide on matters of general interest.

Additionally college press releases and pertinent photos are posted on the web site. Besides reading the local daily newspapers ourselves, we regularly monitor the coverage we receive using three non-duplicated news clipping services:

  • Kentucky Baptist Convention clipping service
  • Virtual Clip Service
  • Google (online stories)
