Advertising

If you feel you have an event or program that requires advertising, please contact the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Certain departments may choose to advertise specific events and programs in the media. Some limited funds in the communications and marketing office are designated for general college advertising.

If funds are available within your own department, he will work with you to determine deadlines and space requirements. Please have any text you desire to appear in the ad prepared prior to your meeting with the Associate Vice President, and be prepared to discuss what visual imagery you would like to see appear in the ad.

After your needs are determined, we will work with the graphic artist to ensure that your advertisement meets Georgetown’s visual standards. Text should be submitted in either Word 2004 or earlier version, or as body text in an email. Pictures may be sent in JPEG or TIF format. Please do not include text or pictures in another program (i.e. Publisher, Powerpoint, etc.), as the graphic artist will most likely be unable to open the file. Be aware that most media deadlines are four days to eight weeks in advance of the publication of the newspaper or magazine. Additional time is needed for development and design of the ad. So contact the communications and marketing office as far in advance of the ad as possible.
