Georgetown College provides information technology resources to faculty, staff, and students in support of academic and administrative functions. Resources are allocated based on need and availability. Computing, telecommunications, and video resources are acquired either by Information Technology Services and distributed to end users, or by individual departments for internal use. Departments requesting equipment from ITS must submit their request to the Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services. Purchase and distribution of equipment by Information Technology Services is based on the availability of funding.
Information Technology Services also provides equipment for check out by faculty, staff, and students in support of administrative and academic functions. Individuals desiring to check out equipment may do so either by calling the ITS Help Desk, or reserving equipment on-line via the link found on http://www.georgetowncollege.edu/its. Information Technology Services conducts an annual User Survey to all faculty and staff. The survey measures hardware, software, and service issues. The survey is used by ITS to determine priorities for current and future equipment needs and services. As part of the regular review of its policies, the Associate Vice President for ITS is a member of the Academic Support Committee. This committee is made up of representatives of the faculty and representatives from academic offices.
