
This scholarship has been established by a generous donation from the Tri-State Durga Puja, an organization that exists to promote understanding of Indian culture in the Tri-State Area. This was established after the visit by Dr. APJ Kalam, former President of India, to our campus in Spring 2010.
This scholarship is designed to promote and to help defray costs of travel to India, and to promote greater understanding and appreciation of Indian culture at Georgetown College. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of need, merit, and demonstrated interest in India.
Student must be currently enrolled at Georgetown College and must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA. Student must demonstrate basic knowledge of Indian culture and specific desire to learn more and to promote intercultural understanding.
The scholarship is awarded from the fund balance, and can only be awarded for meaningful travel to India. This is a one-time award.

Scholarship recipients are chosen by a committee, including a representative from the Office of Student Financial Planning, the Office of International Programs, and a member of the College’s faculty.
