I have two roles at Georgetown College.  First, I direct the Global Scholars Program which seeks to educate students about world events and cultures. The other, as director of International Studies, is to help you spend part of your GC career studying in another part of the world. Have you ever thought about studying art in Italy? What about Spanish in the Peruvian Andes?  With study abroad at GC, those (and lots more) are possibilities.  Stop by and find out more!  I look forward to meeting you!

Personally, I received my Master’s degree from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce in 2009.  I studied Arabic in Jordan in 2004 and haven’t been able to get enough of the Middle East ever since.  I’m a major nerd who enjoys reading about foreign policy, traveling, chocolate milk and basketball.  My life quest is to visit the gyms of all 345 D1 basketball schools.  I’m currently sitting at about 50.

First of all, thank you so much for your interest in Georgetown College!  I hope to help you through the Admissions process in any way possible.  I am a recent graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Spanish.

I am brand new to the Georgetown College community but have fallen in love with the people, the campus, and the city!  There is truly something for everyone here and no matter the weather; the city is gorgeous.  Even though I am new to the area, I have been working in Admissions for over three years now and look forward to helping you find your special place within our outstanding community!

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my Yorkie Poo, Bailey!  She is a feisty puppy but has learned a lot in her obedience classes as she prepares for her therapy dog certification.  Other than that, I love spending time with family and friends, giving back to the community, exploring Kentucky, and cooking.

After completing a Master’s Degree in Spanish and additional graduate coursework for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, I sought out ways to use my language skills to serve the community.  For several years, I was an Adjunct Professor of Spanish at Georgetown College.  Now, I have two roles at Georgetown.

First, I am the Director of the Spanish Immersion Program, an innovative program that helps students launch their command of the language to new levels, while encouraging students to apply their linguistic skill and cultural knowledge to their personal and professional goals.  I am also fortunate to serve as an academic adviser for new international students, and assist all undergraduate international students with academic issues.  These roles allows me to fulfill multiple professional interests, particularly by providing learning opportunities for those who wish to study another language and culture; and helping to create a broader, more globally-minded atmosphere for everyone on the Georgetown College campus.

I am a 2010 graduate of Georgetown College with a double major in Commerce, Language and Culture (CLC) and Spanish and a minor in Art History. After graduating, I worked in Community Relations and Protocol for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games working directly with diplomats and athletes from around the world. In July of 2011, I found my way back to Georgetown as a staff member and began working with international and study abroad students. I know work with international students from the start of the application process through graduation.

While a student at Georgetown, I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Santiago, Chile and Oxford, England through our partnership with Regent’s Park College. I was also involved with several academic, political and social organizations across campus. Looking for ways to get involved at Georgetown? Let’s meet for coffee sometime and I’ll help you get connected to campus.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling, cooking and movies.
