Rev. Elijah Craig, a Baptist minister, established the first classical school in Kentucky in 1787. The school was later linked to the Rittenhouse Academy, and led by Rev. Craig. Georgetown College traces its roots to that early school.
GOLD is the name given to the group of alumni who graduated in the last ten years â€“ the Graduates Of the Last Decade. Many GOLD alumni wish to be leadership donors to Georgetown but do not have the means since they are starting families and are still in the early stages of their careers. With this in mind, we offer GOLD alumni the opportunity to become Young Presidentâ€™s Club members â€“ our leadership gift club â€“ at a reduced level. The normal level to be a Presidentâ€™s Club member is $1,000, but GOLD alumni can beÂ members for $100 multiplied by the number of years since graduation.
