Is Family Campaign for parents of current or past Georgetown students?

No. The Family Campaign is for faculty and staff members at Georgetown College.

Why should I give to the Family Campaign?

The success of the Family Campaign will create tremendous momentum, which sends a very positive message to our constituents that the people closest to Georgetown truly believe in the GC experience.

Can I designate where my money will go?

YES! You can designate your gift to any account listed on the web page and many others. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Development Office to assist you with the gift.

How do I get credit for money I have already given?

Please contact Laura Owsley or Roy Lowdenback and they will assist you with this possibility.

Why is the faculty/staff percentage so important?

Many corporations and foundations consider an institution’s faculty and staff giving percentages when awarding grants and contributions.

How can I be assured that my gift gets to the designated account?

  1. Your gift receipt will indicate the account you have chosen.
  2. You can contact Cindy Underwood in Gift Receiving to ensure it was coded to the appropriate account.
  3. You can contact Laura or Roy for further clarification.

Will my gift be tax-deductible?

Yes. Gifts that are processed through the Development Office are tax-deductible.

Are gifts through payroll deduction before or after taxes?

All gifts through payroll deduction are after taxes.

How long will the campaign last?

The focus of this year’s campaign will be through the month of April, 2011. However any gift received between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011, will count toward the campaign.
