The Tigers had a rough week, dropping two conference games in a row for the first time in more than a decade. On Thursday, Nov. 29 the Tigers lost to Lindsey Wilson’s Blue Raiders, and on Dec. 1, they lost to the Campbellsville Tigers. Both were home games . It was also the first time in a decade that both the men’s and women’s team lost at home on the same day as the Lady Tigers also fell to Campbellsville.
The Tigers were down for all of the game against Lindsey Wilson and didn’t shoot well in the first half. Meanwhile, Lindsey Wilson was scorching, hitting four threes in both halves. The tigers faced a 28-18 deficit at one point in the first half but managed to bring it down to 34-41 by the end of the half. The Blue Raiders protected their lead during the entirety of the second half. The Tigers were able to get within three points a few times, but Lindsay Wilson kept it far enough away for the 76-72 win.
Against Campbellsville, the Tigers were a little more competitive. Both teams struggled to score in the first half on the way to a 21-26 score. In the second half, the Tigers started with a 5-0 run to tie the game, but Campbellsville managed to go on a 21-9 run after that, essentially sealing the game away. Allan Thomas was the key to a 12-5 run by the Tigers that put the game within one possession at 64-61, but Campbellsville managed to pull away for the win.
Georgetown plays Kentucky Christian University Dec. 14 at home. All of those here for the break should consider coming to support the Tigers.
